Gajera Global School
Republic Day Celebration@GGS
Seventy-three long years since its inception. Much water has flowed under the bridge. Trials, tribulations and upheavals, we have seen it all. From a nascent democracy to one of the world’s largest, we have indeed come a long way. When the constitution was formally adopted and India declared itself a Sovereign, Democratic and Republic state, the architects of the constitution had only a dream of a thriving democracy. The boom of the 21 guns saluting the Indian National Flag died then and there, but the echo still rings in the hearts and minds of more than a billion Indians.
Today’s celebrations on Republic Day at Gajera Global School are the distant echoes of that momentous decision taken seventy-three years back. The programme and the show of patriotism reflect the dreams of the founding fathers of the constitution in their full lustre. The observance began with the customary salute to the national flag followed by a cultural show. The show was a display of our devotion to the country and the ideals laid out in the constitution.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Mr Nazmi Khinkhabwala, who represented India in table tennis and has a gold medal to his credit, Ms Maitri Patel, the youngest female commercial pilot in the world and Dr.Nikhil Jariwala, Consultant Physician, Cardiologist & Diabetologist at Venus Hospital, Surat.
